Venue Review

Did an event at Markham Convention Centre recently and I wanted to share my experience here.

I was running a photobooth and a man asked me to take a picture using his cell phone. I declined and the man wasn’t happy and kept asking why. I explained that I am a professional photographer and I will be happy to shoot him a picture using my camera, but not his phone. He insisted and I said no again. This man claims he was the owner of the venue, and I again offered to take a picture using my camera, but he was not very happy. This was so rude because I felt being pressed to do something that I’m not obligated to do for him.

During the event, my server missed to serve food twice until I asked for it.

The entrance does not have an access button, so lugging in my gears took some effort.

The entrance of the banquet halls at the side does not feature an air lock. It only have one set of doors, so cold air keeps coming in to the photo booth area, making it very comfortable.

Another annoying fact that I discovered during the event was that, the wall divider didn’t seem doing a great job keeping sound from the event next door out. This is a huge downside for me.
